To promote digital education thereby enabling online and offline modes of studying for students

Karnataka government announced to distribute tablet, pcs to the college students studying in government colleges in the state. The announcement was made by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa. This scheme is mainly planned to promote digital education. It aims at infusing technology in the modes of studying which will benefit students as well as teachers. Higher education department of Karnataka aims to convert 2,500 classrooms in colleges into smart classes with high use of digital technology. It tends to develop a unique LMS-Learning Management System for facilitating online and offline classes. It aims at providing the benefit of anytime, anywhere study option. About 1.55 lakh students are to be benefited under this scheme.
