Widow Re-Marriage Scheme launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Himachal Pradesh. The main purpose of the scheme is to help in the rehabilitation of widows, by encouraging men to enter into wedlock with widows. This scheme provides financial assistance to such widows. Under this scheme financial assistance of Rs. 25, 000 is provided out of which cash grant of Rs. 10,000 will be given to widow at the time of marriage and Rs. 15,000 will be kept in the form of Fixed Deposit jointly at least for five years. The initiative has helped many destitute widows of the state. All widow permanent residence of Himachal can apply to the scheme. Benefits of Widow Re-Marriage Scheme:

Required eligibility and conditions applying for Widow Re-Marriage Scheme:

1. Widow residence of Himachal Pradesh
2. Women and men both are permanent residence of Himachal Pradesh
3. Men not less than 21 years of age
4. Women not less than 18 years of age

Required documents applying for Widow Re-Marriage Scheme:

1. Passport size photograph
2. Bank passbook copy
3. Identity proof
4. Resident proof of both men & women
5. Aadhar card
6. Name and address of person to whom widow is marrying
7. Date of re-remarriage
8. Date of first marriage
9. Date which she become widow
10. Application form (available at office or can be downloaded from link mentioned below)
11. Note: Scheme may take other documents please confirm

Application procedure applying for Widow Re-Marriage Scheme:

1. Applicant wishes to apply must confirm eligibility and apply at District or Tahashil welfare office
2. Application form can be obtained at same office or can be downloaded from link mentioned below
3. Fill the application form carefully and submit at same office with required documents. Application should be submitted within six months of their marriage
