Grant To Scheduled Caste Students Studying in Medical & Engg. Colleges

Punjab is one of the state which is considered as the rich state in India where farmers are also rich because of its fertile soil. But not everyone is rich, there are many students who cannot afford education at graduation level. There is a scheme which grant financial assistance to the student who are pursuing their medical & engg studies and belong to specific category with specific income. The scheme was started in the year 1982-83 and is still active. It gets funding from post-matric scholarship schemes for Scheduled Castes.

Benefits of Grant to Student who are Pursuing their Medical & Engg studies:

  • Funding for further education: Scheme funds the students from scheduled castes who are pursuing medical & engineering studies
  • Chances of better future: Since no student will be deprived of the education of their dream, candidate will be doing his/her dream job
  • Community development: As the scheme provides scholarship to schedules castes candidates there is indirect community development
  • Different amount for different mode: Mode in the sense students who are only college going will get Rs. 125 per month and Rs. 250 per month to hostellers (conditions apply amount may be more)

Eligibility for Grant to Student who are Pursuing their Medical & Engg studies:

  1. Parent/Guardian annual income should not exceed Rs. 60, 965
  2. He/She should be the bonafied student of Punjab state
  3. The student must be from SC/ST category
  4. He/She must be from government or private institute or university in Punjab

Documents Required:

  1. Income certificate of candidate’s parents/guardian
  2. Caste certificate
  3. Residential Proof (electricity bill, water connection bill, gas connection bill, ration card, voter id, Aadhar card, pan card or driving license)
  4. SSC and HSC mark sheets
  5. Bank passbook having (bank name, branch name, account holder name, IFSC & MICR code)
  6. An affidavit certificate from parent/guardian (will be informed at the time of filling up application individually if required)
  7. 2 Passport size photographs of student (better to keep more copies)

To apply for the scheme students need to submit their form with written application to the head of the institution.
