Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme for Kerosene

The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme for Kerosene is launched by Shri Dharmendra Pradhan Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. This scheme is launched especially for providing extra benefits to consumer in terms of subsidy. Where the scheme for direct transfer of subsidy is introduced, the consumer will pay the non-subsidized price of kerosene at the time of purchase. Subsequently, the amount of subsidy will be directly transferred to the bank account of the beneficiary. To avoid any inconvenience to the beneficiary during the initial purchase through payment of non-subsidized price, an initial amount of subsidy shall be credited to all eligible beneficiaries. Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) in Kerosene will be implementing in 33 districts identified by 9 State Governments namely, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

  • The subsidy on Kerosene will be credited directly to consumers Aadhar linked bank accounts

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme for Kerosene:

  1. All citizen are eligible to get benefits under this scheme
  2. Income should not more means BPL category or consumer should belongs to Orange or Yellow ration card

Document required for applying Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme for Kerosene:

  1. BPL card (Yellow or Orange)
  2. Aadhar card
  3. Bank details e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, account number, branch name
  4. Identity proof
  5. Residence proof

Application procedure:

  1. Applicant can contact to nearer Public Distribution Office if he/she qualifies the eligibility norms mentioned in above section
