Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Loan Scheme for Higher Study launched by Ministry of Education, Government of Gujarat. A scheme introduced with an aim to provide loan assistance for Rs. 15 lakhs with 4% interest rate to scheduled caste students to complete higher studies in abroad. A unique scheme of Gujarat government encourages SC students to take up higher studies in foreign countries. This scheme provides them an opportunity to have international collaborative research opportunities, training in advanced techniques and technologies in emerging fields thereby enhancing their research capacity and ability to contribute to higher education with a global perspective. All scheduled caste student resident of Gujarat can apply to the scheme. Application forms can be obtained from Scheduled Caste Welfare Office

Required eligibility and conditions applying for Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Loan Scheme for Higher Study:
- No income limits
- Students resident of Gujarat
- For Diploma and equivalent technical and professional and technical courses after obtaining 50% in Std. 12th
- For postgraduate courses, sanction is being granted after obtaining 50% marks in Graduation level examinations
- Should have obtained Visa
- Scheduled caste students intending to prosecute higher studies in foreign countries
- Application is to be submitted before leaving abroad

- Residence Proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
- Birth Certificate
- Aadhar card
- Passport size photographs
- Bank details e.g. Account number, IFSC code, MICR code
- Identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Election Card)
- Caste Certificate issued by a Competent Authority
- All Degrees/Diplomas/Certificate with mark sheets
