Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter is a scheme launched by the Government of Uttarakhand (Social Welfare Department) for girls who belong to scheduled castes & scheduled tribe’s category in the state. The main purpose of the scheme is to provide financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 for the marriage of the daughter of the poor Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes families. The main objectives of this scheme are to bring a positive change after a girl child is born to the family, to support the family financially for the marriage of a girl, to discourage any minor girl marriage in the state and encourage marriages only after the girl has attained the legal age for marriage. Along with this, it also helps to improve the education and health of the girl child and maintains the gender balance and helps the family in making a proper planning for the future. Benefits of Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter:
- The government provides financial assistance of Rs. 50,000 for the marriage of the daughter of the poor Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes families
Eligibility for Financial Assistance for the Marriage of Daughter:
- Applicant should be resident of Uttarakhand state
- The applicant monthly family income should not be more than Rs. 1250 per month
- Scheduled caste & scheduled tribe families who belong to below poverty line (BPL) are eligible to get benefits under this scheme

- Aadhaar card
- Income certificate
- Caste certificate
- BPL card
- Marriage certificate
- Copy of bride and groom’s family register

- Applicant should contact Social Welfare Department in concerned districts/Taluka in Uttarakhand
