Indian Oil is known for its corporate social responsibilities. They have supported the communities in different possible means available to them. Extending the social initiative the Indian Oil corporation has launched a scholarship scheme. The scheme is called as IndianOil Gyanodaya Scholarship Scheme. The objective of the scheme is to help students from the economically backwards sections get skill education. Dispur MLA Atul Bora inaugurated the scholarship scheme in an program organized at Asam Engineering Institute Chandmari.
The MLA appriciated IOC`s efforts to support marginalized sections of the society and their efforts towards enhancing skill development and employability. He further said that the IndianOil Gyanodaya Scholarship Scheme will help students achieve their dreams and get an employment opportunities. More than 100 selected students were handed over the scholarship certificate at the hands of the MLA on the occasion.
Jogen Barpujari, Executive Director (Guwahati Refinery) was also present at the function and congratulated all the students who got the scholarship. He also provided information on CSR activities by the IOC in the field of education, skills development, health, justice, drinking water.
Highlights of the IndianOil Gyanodaya Scholarship Scheme:
- Scholarship scheme for the students of the marginal sections of the society
- Skills development programs along with employment opportunities to be provided to the students
- Selected students from two state-owned ITIs in Guwahati, ITI for women in Rehabari, two polytechnics, Asam Engineering Institute Chandmari, PCPS girls polytechnic Bamunimaidam to get the scholarship
- The scholarship to be provided only to the selected economically backward students starting academic year 2017-18
