The Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme started by Central Government (Ministry of Rural Development) for Disable persons of the country. Under this scheme, the beneficiary is given monthly financial help for better and easier life. The scheme is introduced under National Social Assistance Program. The main objective of this scheme is to make independent to those people who are physically handicapped or have other kinds of disability. Monthly financial help can make them independent till the last movement of life.┬аUnder this scheme, any person of age 18 years and above with 40% disability and below the poverty line is eligible and will get Rs. 300 per month up to 79 years and above that Rs. 500 per month. This is centrally sponsored scheme for getting eligible applicant need to qualify some eligibility norms.

Benefits of Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme:

  • Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme provides benefits in the form of financial help per month to all disabled person. Rates of financial assistance are mentioned below
  • Under this scheme, the applicant is given Rs. 300 per month up to age 79
  • Under this scheme, applicants are given Rs. 500 per month after age 79

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme:

  1. The age of disabled applicant must 18 to 79 for applying
  2. Must be residents of India
  3. Applicant must be physically/mentally disabled
  4. Person must be disabled 40% and above

Document required for applying Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme:

  1. Aadhar card
  2. Certificate of Disability
  3. Residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
  4. Bank details e.g. account number, account holder name, branch name, MICR code, IFSC code
  5. Age proof
  6. BPL ration card

Application procedure:
