Medisep Scheme

Kerala State Cabinet has approved the Medisep Scheme which envisages cashless free treatment facility to all the serving state government employees. This scheme provides a comprehensive health insurance coverage to the employees of the state government. This scheme covers teaching, non-teaching government employees, civil services officers and their families as well as pensioners and their spouses/ families. Beneficiaries will get a cash free treatment at empaneled hospitals under this health insurance coverage scheme. Implementation of the scheme will be undertaken by Oriental Insurance company. This health coverage will turn out to be boon to the beneficiaries in critical times.

Scheme Details:

• Kerala State Cabinet has approved the Medisep Scheme for health welfare of all the serving state government employees.
• This scheme envisages cashless free treatment facility for chronic and other ailments.
• It covers all the state government employees, civil servants, pensioners and their families/ dependents.
• This is a compulsory scheme for all the beneficiaries, only civil servants and their families have an option of joining the insurance scheme.
• Through this scheme the state government provides a comprehensive health insurance coverage of Rs 3 lakh to the beneficiaries.
• Implementation of the scheme will be undertaken by Oriental Insurance company.
• Beneficiaries will get cash free treatment at empaneled hospitals under this health insurance coverage scheme.
• A nominal monthly premium of Rs 500 will have to be paid by the beneficiaries.
• A separate nodal cell is formed by the state cabinet under the State Finance department to ensure smooth implementation of the scheme.
• This health coverage will turn out to be boon to the beneficiaries in critical times thereby ensuring their welfare.
• Under this scheme the state government has also started a separate portal @medisep.kerala.gov.in.
• All the scheme related details, real time information, news, helpline details etc., can be found on the portal.
• Beneficiaries can also register and track their complaints through the portal.
