Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses

The  Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses is started by Punjab government (Human Resource and Development) for meritorious students. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the poor and meritorious students belonging to minority communities (Sikhs, Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Jains & Parsis) to enable them to pursue professional and technical courses. The scholarship is given to students to pursue degree and/or postgraduate level courses from Technical, Professional, Nursing, Pharmacy, Management etc institutions. The scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the previous final examination.

Benefits of Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses:

• The Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses scheme provides benefits in the form of financial assistance. The structure of financial is mentioned below
• Maintenance allowance: Rate for hosteller 10,000 per annum and Rate for day-Scholar Rs. 5,000 per annum
• Course fee: Rate for hosteller 20,000 per annum and Rate for day-Scholar Rs. 20,000 per annum
• Full course fee will be reimbursed for national listed institutions such as IIT’s, IIM’s etc

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Merit Cum Mean Based Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses:

1. Scholarship is given to students to pursue degree and/or postgraduate level courses from Technical, Professional, Nursing, Pharmacy, Management etc institutions
2. Scholarship is awarded to the students who have secured not less than 50% marks in the
3. previous final examination
4. The annual income of the parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed 2.50 lakh
5. A student should be resident of Punjab State and regular in attendance
6. Scholarship will not be given to more than two students in a family

Application procedure and documents required for applying Merit Cum Means Based Scholarship for Professional and Technical Courses:

1. Income certificate does not exceed Rs. 2.50 lakh per annum
2. Domicile certificate
3. Identity proof
4. Aadhar card
5. Bank Details, IFSC code, MICR code, Account holder name, account number
6. Previous year Marksheet
7. Residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
8. Bonafide certificate

Application procedure:

1. This scheme is being implemented on “Online Scholarship Management System” (OSMS) from the year 2011-12 Students of all institutions apply online to the concerned institute registered in the website: https://scholarships.gov.in/main.do The scholarship amount of the approved students is transferred electronically to their bank account
