The Petrol Subsidy Scheme to Persons with Disability started by Central Government, Ministry of Social Welfare. The scheme is specially launched for people who are physically handicapped or disabled and have less financial income from all sources. The main objective of this scheme is to reduce some financial burden of disabled persons and assist them to live a normal life. Under this scheme 50% subsidy on actual expenditure on purchase of petrol/ diesel provided (quantity depends on engine capacity of the vehicle). To avail the benefits the person who is physically disabled should be the owner of motorized vehicles and Income from all the sources does not exceed Rs 2500/- per month (i.e should be less than Rs. 30,000/- a year). Forgetting benefits under this scheme applicant must need to qualify some eligibility norms which are mentioned below.
Benefits of Petrol Subsidy Scheme to Persons with Disability:

- Vehicle of 2Horse Power and Below – 15 liters per month
- Vehicle of more than 2Horse Power – More than 15 liters per month

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Petrol Subsidy Scheme to Persons with Disability:
- Those persons who are physically disabled and are owner of motorized vehicles
- Applicants Income from all the sources does not exceed Rs 2500/- per month (i.e should be less than Rs. 30,000/- a year)
- Those persons with disability who are already in receipt of the conveyance allowance either from any voluntary or Government source shall not be eligible for grant of subsidy on purchase of petrol/ diesel
- Disable person should be resident of India
Document required for applying Petrol Subsidy Scheme to Persons with Disability:
- Two passport size photographs
- Residence proof for the last three years (Voter Identity Card, Ration Card, Electricity Bill)
- Copy of disability certificate/identity card with 40% or above disability
- Copy of registration certificate of the vehicle which should be in the name of the applicant
- Copy of driving license of the applicant
- Income certificate not more than Rs 2500/- per month (i.e should be less than Rs. 30,000/- a year)
Application procedure:
- Applicant can collect application form from nearer Social Welfare Office and filled application form needs to be submitted along with required documents mentioned above
