Procedure to obtain Birth Certificate In Punjab / पंजाब में जन्म प्रमाण पत्र प्राप्त करने की प्रक्रिया

The Birth certificate will be distributed to the people of Punjab. A birth certificate is the most important identity document which is essential to get services offered by the Punjab Government to its citizens. Birth Certificate is important certificate because it shows the date and fact of one’s birth for multiple purposes, like right to vote, admission to schools and to the Government Service, claiming the right to marry at the legally permissible age, settlement of inheritance and property rights, and obtaining Government-issued identity documents like a driving licence or passport

 Eligibility to Apply for Birth certificate In Punjab:

  1. Applicant must be the resident of Punjab state

Online Application Procedure:

  1. Applicant should visit following website: http://punjab.gov.in/issuance-of-birth-certificate-urban-areas-
  2. Here applicant will see Birth certificate apply online so, here applicant must click on that he will switch to next page
  3. On the State Portal of Punjab, click on Citizen Login link
  4. If you are a new user, click on “New User” link, else login with your Username and Password
  5. After logging in for the first time, the user will be asked to update their profile. Please update it
  6. Click on “Fresh Application” link in the left menu
  7. On the next screen, all Department wise services are listed. Choose the Birth certificate to apply for and click the “Apply” link
  8. On the Fresh Application screen, go to Alternative section and click on “Click here to fill the application form online” link
  9. Fill the form and click “Submit
  10. Click “View Saved Application” link, select the application and click “Upload Supporting Documents” button
  11. Upload the supporting documents

Offline Application Procedure:

  1. Applicant may apply offline for Birth certificate in Punjab
  2. Applicant can download the required application form using following website: https://govinfo.me/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/Issuance-of-Birth-Certificate-Urban-area.pdf
  3. Applicant should download application form at the same time candidate must be filled it and attached required documents will be submitted to the concerned authority
