Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana is a special Additional Central Assistance Scheme launched by the central government of India. Under this scheme, the government has aims agricultural development strategies, to reaffirm its commitment to achieving 4% annual growth in the agricultural sector during the 11th plan. Rashtriya Krish Vikas Yojana is 100% Centrally Sponsored and being implemented with the main objective to improve the growth rate of Agriculture and Allied Sector up to 4%. The scheme was launched to incentivize the States to provide additional resources in their State Plans over and above their baseline expenditure to bridge critical gaps. The RKVY covers all sectors such as Crop Cultivation, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Dairy Development, Agricultural Research and Education, Forestry and Wildlife, Plantation and Agricultural Marketing, Food Storage and Warehousing, Soil and Water Conservation, Agricultural Financial Institutions, other Agricultural activities. RKVY is a State Plan Scheme and central government provided assistance to the state. The grant depends upon the amount provided in State Plan Budgets for Agriculture and allied sectors

Eligibility for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana RKVY:
- All the states and Union territories in India are eligible for financial assistance under the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana
- All farmers in the state are eligible for Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna RKVY
Objectives of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana RKVY:
- To incentivize the states that increase their investment in Agriculture and allied sectors
- To provide flexibility and autonomy to the States in planning and executing programmes for agriculture
- To ensure the preparation of Agriculture Plans for the districts and states
- To achieve the goal of reducing the yield gaps in important crops
- To maximize returns to the farmers
- To address the agriculture and allied sectors in an integrated manner

- Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna implemented by state department of agriculture for farmers
- Beneficiaries can also contact district level or Taluka level agriculture officer to get benefits from Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojna
- Agriculture and another allied sector like Fisheries Department, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry etc. also implement this scheme in the state
