Samajwadi Smartphone Yojna is a popular scheme by the Akhilesh Yadav government in Uttar Pradesh. The scheme is an important step in helping out people with the different government services & utilities. Under the scheme Govt. of Uttar Pradesh aims to distribute free smartphones to students, farmers, youth, women of the state.

People residing in UP can apply for the free smartphone who is matric pass, 18 year of age or older and family income less than Rs. 6 lakhs per annum can apply for the scheme. The smartphones will be distributed only if the Samajwadi Party is come back to power in 2017 state elections. If the SP government comes back to power all smartphones will be delivered to all the eligible applicants. The phone will have preloaded apps such as weather app, crop information apps, study material, job alerts etc. The phone will also facilitate interaction with government, people of UP can use the app on the phone to interact with the government, give feedback or register complaints to the government.
