State Merit Scholarship in Manipur

The State Merit Scholarship scheme is started by Manipur State Government under Ministry of Education. The main objective behind introducing this scheme is to provide scholarships to meritorious students of Manipur state of their better and bright future and to provide equal opportunities for higher education to the poor meritorious students and along with those students who are staying outside the state but within the country. Under this scheme, the candidate is supported by financial assistance per month for his regular expenses and to reduce the burden of other things. Benefits of State Merit Scholarship:

• U State Merit Scholarship provides benefits in the form of financing to the meritorious students of Manipur. Rates of scholarship are mentioned below
• 500 per month for General Degree Courses
• 750 per month for Post Graduate Courses
• Duration of Scholarship: Fresh candidate will get for 10 months and Renewal Candidates will get for 12 months

Required eligibility and conditions for applying for State Merit Scholarship:

1. Students must be permanent residents of Manipur
2. Students who have passed Class 12^th or equivalent exam from an institution recognized by Board of Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) are eligible
3. Students have secured admission in general degree course (Integrated courses included) and for P.G. courses who have passed Degree or equivalent exams from a recognized Institute and secured admission in one of the disciplines (where scholarship is offered) in Universities/Colleges/Institutions recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC)
4. Candidates parental income should not more than Rs. 6.00 lakh per annum
5. Forgetting eligible candidate must have minimum percentage mentioned below
6. Degree courses in Science 65%
7. Degree courses in Arts & Commerce 60%
8. PG courses in Science 65%
9. PG courses in Arts & Commerce 60%

1. Aadhar card
2. Domicile certificate
3. Income certificate not more than Rs. 6 lakh
4. Permanent residence certificate
5. Bank details e.g. account number, account holder name, IFSC code, MICR code, branch name
6. Previous years mark sheet
7. Bonafide certificate
8. Other support documents
9. Entitlement card
