The Sushrusha Scheme is started by Assam Government (Ministry of Health and Family Welfare) for providing financial assistance to people who have undergone kidney transplantation. This is an initiative from the government of Assam. Under “Sushrusha” scheme, an amount of Rs. 1 lakh is granted as financial assistance to people, who have undergone kidney transplantation after 1st April 2010. Under the scheme financial assistance is provided to help the patients cover the expenditure incurred during the kidney transplantation procedure and aftercare. So, Govt servants, public sector employees and any employee receiving medical reimbursement from the company are not entitled to receive benefits under this Govt of Assam scheme.
Benefits of Sushrusha Scheme:
- The Sushrusha Scheme provides benefits in the form of financial assistance to cover expenditure. The structure of financial assistance is mentioned below
- One-time financial assistance worth Rs. 1 lakh will be given to candidate
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Sushrusha Scheme:
- The person who is a resident of Assam and whose income or guardian income does not exceed 3.00 lakh per year will be eligible for the scheme
- Servants, Public Sector employees and employees who are entitled to medical reimbursement will not be eligible for the scheme
- Candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam
- Nodal Officer must certify that the patients have undergone kidney transplantation
Document required for applying Sushrusha Scheme:
- Income certificate up to Rs. 3 lakh
- Residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
- Aadhar card
- Medical examination report or certificate stating that kidney transplantation is done
- Domicile certificate
- Bank details e.g. account number, account holder name, IFSC code, MICR code
