Vidhva Sahay and Talim Yojana launched by Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Gujarat. The scheme aims empowerment and welfare of women who lost their husband and improvement in their economic condition. The Department is sensitive towards women 18-40 years, who have lost their husbands and initiates policy for their empowerment and economic living condition. For their economical living, under Manav Garima Yojana, Rs. 3000 margin money is given to help them stand on their feet on their own and empower living. All women who lost their husband and satisfy other conditions are eligible under this scheme, women who wish to get benefits can visit nearest women and child development department along with required documents mentioned below. A unique initiative of Gujarat government has been improving the lives of many destitute widows and making them self-reliant and economically stable.
Benefits of Vidhva Sahay and Talim Yojana in Gujarat:
- Vidhva Sahay and Talim Yojana focus on empowerment and welfare of women who lost their husband and helps them improving living conditions
- Under this scheme, a widow is awarded Rs. 3000 margin money to help them stand on their feet on their own and empower living
- Another benefit is the applicant gets Rs. 500 through Post Office every month
- Two children get Rs. 80 (per child) every month through Post Office
Required eligibility and conditions applying for Vidhva Sahay and Talim Yojana:
- A woman satisfies all condition mentioned below can apply to scheme
- Women lost her husband
- Widow resident of Gujarat
- Widow age between 18 to 16
- Women belong to weaker economic background
Document required applying for Vidhva Sahay and Talim Yojana:
- Residence proof: Domicile certificate, Electricity bill
- Identity proof: Aadhar card, Voter ID
- BPL card (if available)
- Widow certificate (if available)
- Passport size photograph
- Death certificate of husband (if available)
- Income certificate
- Age proof
- Account in Post Office
Application procedure:
- Beneficiary applicant can collect application form by visiting Nearest Department of women and child development
- Must apply at same office with documents mentioned above
