Ambedkar DBT Voucher Scheme, Rajasthan

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot recently approved the proposal for Ambedkar DBT Voucher Scheme for the students belonging to various reserved categories like SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS. This scheme will provide vouchers to the college students studying in government colleges in urban areas for residential facilities. Under this scheme about Rs. 7000 per month will be provided for residential facilities at divisional headquarters and Rs. 5000 per month for district headquarters. This scheme will start from this academic year 2021-22.

• The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to the reserved category students
• This scheme will cover all the students belonging to SC, ST, OBC, MBC and EWS categories, studying in government colleges
• The scheme will enable the students to pursue higher education
• It will enable the students to have secured residential stay for studying in colleges in urban areas away from their homes
• It will provide help to the students to meet their expenses for residence
• This financial assistance will help the students with further studies without having financial constraints
• This scheme tends to ensure the welfare of college students belonging to reserved categories across the state
