Assistance for Uniform launched by Tribal Development Department, Government of Gujarat. The objective of this scheme, to provide economic support and motivation for education. A common scenario has been observed among poor Scheduled Tribe students they quit primary education just due to lack of few facilities like a uniform, transport, residence. Under this scheme assistance of Rs. 300 annually for two pairs of uniform is given or Students studying in class 1 to 8 are given free uniforms and with the help to this scheme Gujarat government promoting primary education. 76.14 lakh students were given school uniforms over the last seven years. All students belong Scheduled Tribes and permanent residence of Gujarat state are eligible under this scheme, those who wish to get benefits can apply at School where applicant pursuing education or Nearest Tribal Development Office.

• This scheme focuses on strengthening education among Scheduled Tribes
• Scheduled Tribe students studying in class 1 to 8 gets free uniform
• Assistance of Rs.300 annually for two pairs of uniform

Required eligibility and conditions applying for Assistance for Uniform:

1. Students of Scheduled Tribes and residence of Gujarat state is eligible under this scheme
2. An annual income of student’s family should be up to Rs. 27,000 in rural areas and Rs. 36,000 in urban areas.
3. Students studying in class 1 to 8 are eligible

Document required applying for Assistance for Uniform:

1. Tribal certificate
2. Income certificate

Application procedure:

1. This scheme is implemented by Tribal Development Department. Students who wish to get benefits of this scheme can apply at Nearest Tribal Development Office or School where applicant pursuing education
