The Chief Minister of Manipur Nongthombam Biren Singh launched Chief Minister’s Lairik Yengminnasi (Let’s Learn) Scheme a six-month free remedial coaching programme. Under the scheme free tuitions will be provided to the students from the marginalized communities in the state. The objective of the scheme is to support students from SC, ST, OBC and minority communities and empower them.
What is Chief Minister’s Lairik Yengminnasi (Let’s Learn) Scheme: A six month free tuitions to students scheme belonging to the minority, OBC and SC communities.
Chief Minister’s Lairik Yengminnasi (Let’s Learn) Scheme Benefits:
- Free tuitions for students belonging to minority, OBC and SC communities studying in class 6th till class 12th
- To provide quality education to the students and provide equal opportunities to the socially and economically backward students
- Additional source of income to the teachers employed under the scheme
Chief Minister’s Lairik Yengminnasi (Let’s Learn) Scheme Eligibility:
- Students belonging to minority, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Classes (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities only can apply for the scheme
- The tuition scheme is applicable only for the students studying in Manipur only
Chief Minister’s Lairik Yengminnasi (Let’s Learn) Scheme Highlights:
- The scheme will be implemented by the Manipur Minorities and OBC Economic Development Society which operates under Department for Welfare of Minorities, Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes (MOBC and SC)
- A budget of 74 lakh is allocated for the program
- Government has identified 84 school teachers from the government schools and 71 teachers from private schools who will be conducting tuitions under the new scheme
- Government schools infrastructure will be used for the tuition
- Tuition classes will be conducted between 6:00 am till 8:30 am in three subjects science, maths and English
- The coaching will be conducted in 19 schools in the valley districts of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal and Bishnupur
- Monthly renumeration for GOVERNMENT teachers
- Class 6th till 10th teachers: Rs 5,000 on top of their monthly salary
- Class 10th till 12th teachers: Rs 6,000 along with their monthly salary
- Monthly renumeration for PRIVATE teachers
- Class 6th till 10th teachers: Rs 8,000 on top of their monthly salary
- Class 10th till 12th teachers: Rs 10,000 along with their monthly salary
