The Manipur CM N Biren Singh announced Chief Minister`s Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services Coaching. Free UPSC & state civil services coaching will be provided to the aspiring students in the state. Government has alloted the budget of Rs. 1 crore for the scheme.
Most of the students from the state from poor backgrounds needs to abandon their civil services aspirations due to costly coaching, books & high cost of living in the bigger cities where the coaching classes are available. The scheme will provide much required help for such students.

Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicable to the permanent residents of Manipur
- Applicable only to the students from the economically weaker sections
- Applicable only for the civil services aspirants
Manipur Government has partnered with Delhi-based Alertnative Learning System -IAS Institute (ALS-IAS) to provide free coaching. 150 aspirants from Manipur will be selected & given 100% scholarship for civil services coaching. Total 450 aspirants will be provided coaching at authorized centres of ALS-IAS institutes.
Selection Process:
ALS-IAS institutes, State Higher Education Department along with District Administration will conduct a selection test exam for interested candidates. Top 150 students will be given free coaching, next 50 students will be given 75% scholarships, next 50 will be given 60% scholarship, next 100 will be given 50% & remaining 100 students will be given 40% scholarship.
