Cotton Development Scheme launched by Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, Government of India and implemented by Government of Maharashtra under National Food Security Mission. The main objective of this scheme is to promote the cultivation of cotton and to conduct demonstrations of cultivation of indigenous varieties of cotton. Under this scheme cotton crop grower farmer to get financial assistance along with practical demonstration to increase the productivity of indigenous verity of cotton. The initiative of Maharashtra government to encourage the farmer to grow hybrid cotton, the indigenous verity of cotton in Maharashtra. All cotton crop grower farmer resident of Maharashtra can apply to the scheme. More details and application form can be obtained at nearest Agriculture Office, Government of Maharashtra.
Benefits of Cotton Development Scheme:
- Scheme provides benefits to the cotton crop grower farmer. Under this scheme benefits are given in the form of financial assistance to increase productivity of cotton
- Under scheme this practical demonstration is given to increase the productivity of indigenous varieties of cotton
- Under this scheme Rs. 7000 per hectare subsidy for the underground interactive demonstration is given
- Under this scheme Rs. 8000 grants are provided for the cultivation of indigenous varieties of cotton
- Under this scheme Rs. 9000 grants are received for the demonstration of the hybrid cultivation of cotton
Required eligibility and conditions applying for Cotton Development Scheme:
- Farmer resident of Maharashtra state
- Cotton crop grower farmer can apply to this scheme
- Financial assistance will be directly transferred to beneficiary account
