Government of Jharkhand has announced a scheme to purchase dhaan at minimum support price (MSP) called Dhaan Adhiprapti Yojana (Paddy Procurement Scheme). An MSP of Rs. 1750 will be provided to the paddy farmers in the state. The dhaan procrument will start from 1st December 2018 under the scheme and will continue till 31st March 2019. The scheme is approved by the Jharkhand cabinet on 27th November 2018 under the chairmanship of CM Raghubar Das. Rs. 1750 is the MSP announced by the government of India for the paddy which will now be given to the Jharkhand farmers as well.
Dhaan Adhiprapti Yojana: A paddy procurement scheme at the minimum support price by the Jharkhand government.
Objectives:
- To provide MSP to the farmers
- To make sure that they get guaranteed income
- To increase farmer`s income
Benefits:
- Paddy to be purchased at the MSP of Rs. 1,750 per quintal
- Additional bonus too will be provided to the farmers
- Tokens and date and time to be given by SMS to those farmers who wants to sell their paddy
- Payment will be transfered directly to farmer`s bank account via direct benefit transfer (DBT)
Important Dates:
- Date of announcement of scheme: 27th November 2018
- Start date of paddy procurement: 1st December 2018
- Paddy procurement to end on: 31st March 2019
MSP / rate at which dhaan will be purchased in 2018-19: Rs. 1,750 per quintal
Eligibility for Dhaan Adhiprapti Yojana:
- The scheme is applicable in Jharkhand only
- All the paddy farmers are eligible under the scheme
Dhaan Adhiprapti Yojana Implementation:
- Food Corporation of India (FCI) model is changed to support paddy procurement at MSP
- At present there are 239 paddy procurement center in the state and more such centers will be opened
- Each of the centers will have one government officer, one PACS officer, one accountant cum operator
- 4 lakh metric tonne of paddy will be procured by the government
- Farmers can contact procurement centers for paddy purchase/sell date and time
- Tokens will be provided by SMS to the farmers
- Payments will be transfered in the farmers DBT accounts via NEFT/RTGS
- All the payments will be made in 15 days
- A budget of Rs. 200 crore is alloted for the paddy procurement
- Procurements will be made using FCI model in some of the districts were as in remaining districts the procurement will be done by Jharkhand Food and Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd
