Dry Ration Kit Scheme for Migrant Labourers, Tamil Nadu

On June 25, 2021 Tamil Nadu government launched Dry Ration Kit Scheme for the migrant workers in the state. This scheme launch was announced by Chief Minister, M K Stalin. It is launched mainly in view of the ongoing pandemic situations in the state. Under this scheme the government will provide dry ration kits consisting of 15 kgs of rice, 1 kg of Tur dal and 1 litre cooking oil each to the migrant labourers. This scheme tends to assist the migrant labourers across the state thus ensuring their welfare in these testing times of the pandemic.

• The main objective of the scheme is to provide food to the migrant workers to help them overcome their hunger issues
• Under this scheme, state government will provide dry ration kits consisting of 15 kgs of rice, 1 kg of Tur dal and 1 litre cooking oil each to the migrant labourers
• This scheme will ensure basic food to the workers and their families in these tough times of the pandemic
• Lockdown situations affected many migrant workers, wherein they even faced hunger issues due to financial constraints. Thus, this scheme will ensure no one in the state starves without food.

• It will tend to help the workers with basic food and will thereby ensure their social security and welfare
