Dryland Farming Mission in Maharashtra for Farmer

Dryland Farming Mission is launched by Maharashtra government for the rainfed agriculture areas in the state. Under this scheme, Maharashtra government aims to increase agriculture production in dryland farm in the state. The purpose of dryland farming mission is to increase dryland agriculture production and increase farmer’s income, to develop farm ponds for agriculture, to increase micro-irrigation, to increase agriculture production using farm mechanization, to get good values for agriculture production, to increase marketing for dryland agriculture, to create awareness about agriculture among farmers. Maharashtra has 82% area under rainfed conditions and droughts comes every year in the state.  Maharashtra state has only 18% area comes under irrigation and maximum no. of farmers are depends on dryland farming. due to such condition, Maharashtra government introduced dryland farming mission and vision to agricultural development through farmers groups, farm ponds, micro-irrigation, controlled agriculture, inter-cropping and double cropping, processing, value addition and marketing state. Dryland farming mission implemented in 403 villages in Maharashtra and government can provide subsidies to farmers for implement various techniques to increase production on dryland agriculture

Eligibility for Dryland Farming Mission:

  1. All farmers are eligible for this scheme
  2. Women farmers are eligible
  3. Farmers who have less than 5 acres land are eligible
  4. A farmer who belongs to schedule tribes are eligible
  5. Farmers who are ready for micro-irrigation are eligible
  6. A group of farmers is also eligible for dryland farming mission

  1. Applicant 7/12
  2. Applicant 8/A
  3. Applicant Aadhaar card
  4. Applicant caste certificate
  5. Applicant domicile certificate
  6. Applicant bank account details if required

Application procedure:

  1. A farmer visit Agriculture Department of Maharashtra
  2. A farmer visit Department of Taluka agriculture office
  3. A farmer visit Department of District Agriculture Office for the application process
