Financial Assistance Scheme for Inter-Caste/Inter-Religion Marriage is started by the Social Welfare Department (Government of Uttarakhand) for the Inter-Caste/Inter-Religion Marriage couple. The main purpose of the scheme is to provide financial assistance of Rs. 10,000/- per couple for Inter-Caste/Inter-Religion marriage. Marriage between two people is a wonderful union but when it is an Inter-Caste/Inter-Religion marriage, it can become a problem for both the couple and families. Caste plays a big role in society and even power and politics depends upon caste. So there are people, whom bread and butter depend upon caste-based politics. They never want to see these lines fading away. So they try to create the hatred and negative environment against Inter-Caste/Inter-Religion marriages. Uttarakhand government started this scheme for promoting Inter-Caste/Inter-Religion Marriage amongst youth and supports them by providing financial assistance
