Financial Assistance Scheme for the Remarriage of Widow is started by the Social Welfare Department (Government of Uttarakhand) for women. The main purpose of the scheme is to provide financial assistance for the remarriage of women. The primary aim of this scheme is to encourage widow for remarriage and this scheme helps to provide social security for a woman. The majority of Indian Windows are deprived of their inheritance rights. Many widows come across economic hardship during their life. They are bound to send their children out to work to earn income instead of sending them to school for education. Employment opportunities for windows are very low especially because of the limitations on mobility and gender division of labor. Remarriage of widow helps them to get social security and get a support of a husband. Uttarakhand government has taken very good initiative for the widow women by providing them financial assistance
Benefits of Financial Assistance Scheme for the Remarriage of Widow:
- Financial assistance of Rs. 11000/- is given to the couple after getting widow woman married from the age of 18 to 35 years of age
Eligibility for Financial Assistance Scheme for the Remarriage of Widow:
- Applicant should be resident of Uttarakhand state
- Widow women between the age of 18 to 35 years of the age are eligible for this scheme
Documents required for Financial Assistance Scheme for the Remarriage of Widow:
- Aadhaar card
- Income certificate
- Death certificate of husband
- Certificate of remarriage provided by Tahsildar
- Bank account details
- Passport size photos
Application Procedure:
- Applicant should fill the application form and attached all essential documents mentioned above
- Then, submit the form to the Social Welfare Department in Uttarakhand state
