Free Bicycle Distribution Scheme in Assam

The Free Bicycle Distribution Scheme is started by Assam State Government under Ministry of Education and Secondary Education Department. This scheme is the part of CM’s special scheme. The main aim behind introducing this scheme is to provide Bicycles to girls students who are pursuing secondary education, by providing bicycles girls will be encouraged and the rate of enrollment will increase in schools and the scheme is providing benefits order to avoid covering distance through walking. Under this scheme girl of class 8th and 9th would get benefited or target for bicycle distribution. The scheme is specially introduced for girls who are form BPL (Below Poverty Line) families and are not able to pursue education due to long distance school or any other reason. To get eligible under this scheme girl candidate need to qualify some eligibility norms which are mentioned below

  • Free Bicycle Distribution Scheme provides benefits by providing Free Bicycles to girls who belong to poor family of BPL family
  • Under this scheme, Free Bicycle is provided to girls to avoid distance through walking
  • Rate of enrollment would increase in school

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Free Bicycle Distribution Scheme:

  1. Girls’ parents and girl must be permanent residents of Assam state
  2. Girls’ parents must have less annual income or should belong to BPL
  3. Girls of class 8th and 9th are eligible for this scheme
  4. Girls of Government / Provincialized school are eligible

Document required for applying Free Bicycle Distribution Scheme:

  1. Aadhar card
  2. BPL ration card
  3. Permanent residence proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
  4. Identity proof of parents

Application procedure:

  1. Selection of girl for free bicycle distribution is done by DLSC
  2. Beneficiaries selected by DLSC meeting
