Gharelu Hinsa Ki Peedita Ke Liye Sahita Yojana

On January 18, 2022 Madhya Pradesh state cabinet headed by CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan approved a scheme for assisting women victims of domestic violence who suffer from permanent disability. Gharelu hinsa ke liye Sahita Yojana is the scheme approved during the meeting. Under this scheme the state government will provide financial support to the victims of domestic violence who suffer permanent disability. This scheme will cover all the women as well as girls in the state. Any kind of violence practiced by blood relatives or marital relations will be covered under this scheme. This scheme tends to protect the women victims of domestic violence in the state thereby ensuring their welfare.

• For availing the assistance amount, the victim woman or girl can visit the District Protection Office or State run One Stop Centre.
• Fill up the application form available in the office and submit the same.
• The official will then contact the victim and help her to file an FIR regarding the instance.
• Applications will be processed within one month of being received.
• Compensation amount will be fixed by the District Medical Officer.
• Accordingly the department will transfer the amount will be directly to the respective victim woman’s bank account.
• The victim woman will also be covered under other relevant schemes of the government.
• Women under this scheme will also get an opportunity to complete their education.
• They will also get to attend skill development programmes to become independent and self-reliant.
• This scheme will strengthen the women and ensure their social security as well as welfare.
• Entire cost of the scheme will be borne by State Women and Child Department.
