On November 22, 2020, Hon. Prime Minister, Narendra Modi launched ‘Har Ghar Nal Yojana’ in Uttar Pradesh. This scheme is launched via video conferencing for 2 districts named – Sonbhadra and Mirzapur. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended the occasion. This scheme is mainly launched under the Jal Jeevan Mission for resolving the issue of water scarcity. 41 lakh villagers in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts will be benefited under this scheme. This scheme will also target to empower the villagers, tribals and poor. Total scheme budget allocated is Rs. 5,555.38 crores.

- The main objective of the scheme is to channelize tap water pipelines to the villagers in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur districts of Uttar Pradesh
- This scheme is mainly launched with the motive of resolving the water scarcity issue
- It aims at channelizing the tap water to each and every household by 2024
- This scheme will empower the villagers to become self-reliant
- It will also empower the tribals and poor in the villages in Sonbhadra and Mirzapur
- It will benefit about 41 lakh villagers in all out of which 19, 53,458 households will be from Sonbhadra and 21,87,980 households will be from Mirzapur
