The Health Care Scheme for Aged is started by Assam State Government, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Department of Social Welfare. The reason behind introducing this scheme is to help to support a poor aged patient of poor BPL families and those aged poor are not able to attain any kind of treatment. This is a little support from the government which covers some expenses of treatment at least. Under this scheme aged patient is given some financial assistance which is enough to attain primary treatment. The scheme is specially designed for a poor aged patient of BPL families. Getting eligible under this scheme applicant need to permanent residents of Assam and some other norms need to qualify

- Health Care Scheme for Aged provides benefits in the form of financial assistance while going for treatment
- Under this scheme Rs. 700 one time is provided to Aged Patient who belongs to BPL family while going for treatment
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Health Care Scheme for Aged:
- Applicant candidate must be residents of Assam state
- Applicant candidate must belong to BPL (Below Poverty Line)
- Applicant male of age 70 or above 70 are eligible
- Applicant female of age 65 or above 65 are eligible
Document required for applying Health Care Scheme for Aged:
- BPL Ration card
- Birth certificate or Age proof
- Bank details may require not confirmed
- Address proof e.g. electricity bill
- Aadhar card
Application procedure:
- Applicant candidate can apply to Social Welfare Department at district level
- Grampanchyat may provide some information
