One can apply for a ration card in Andhra Pradesh state via online or offline mode as feasible. It can be applied by any resident irrespective of caste. Ration Card is an essential document for availing necessary basic food items at lower prices. It also provides as a proof of identity, proof for issuing other documents, etc. It is provided based on the income/economic status. It is issued and distributed by Consumer Affairs, Food and Civil Supplies Department in the state.

Types of Ration Card:

  • White ration card – It is issued to the citizens belonging to below poverty line
  • Pink ration card – It is issued to the citizens belonging to above poverty line

Processing Time:

  • A period of 15 days is required for processing a Ration card

Important documents required while applying for a Ration Card:

  • Proof of Identity ( PAN Card/ Election Card/ Passport/ Driving License/ Any Identity Card/document issued by Govt. organisation)
  • Proof of Residence (Election Card/ Aadhaar Card/ Electricity Bill/ Telephone Bill/ LPG connection Bill)
  • 3 Passport sized photos
  • Income proof
  • Bank Passbook

The above-mentioned original documents are to be produced for verification and these are to be submitted in copies for further process.

Eligibility:

  • The applicant should mandatory be a resident of Andhra Pradesh
  • Applicants whose ration card is expired are also eligible to apply

Application Procedure to Apply for Ration card:

  • The applicant is required to visit the official portal @ap.meeseva.gov.in

  • Click on MeeSeva Service Forms
  • Then click on Civil Supplies followed by Issue of new ration card (white/ pink) as applicable
  • Download the same, fill in the form with details as required

  • Submit the form to the nearest ration office/ block office with required documents
  • Applicant can also visit the MeeSeva Online portal
  • Start with registration, then login and fill in the required details like residential address, ration type and other fps details, of family members details like name, gender DOB, age, occupation details, income details, bank details etc
  • Upload required documents and click on Submit
  • Take a printout of the acknowledgment
  • Application status can be tracked from the portal
  • Once verified and approved by the officer, the Ration card will be issued and sent to the registered address by post
  • Ration card can also be downloaded from the portal
