CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme for helping the poor and economically backward students. This scheme is mainly launched to help the students studying as well as the children who wish to study. It aims at boosting students to take up higher studies. Under this scheme students will be provided with scholarships and fee reimbursements. Students pursuing polytechnics will get Rs. 15,000 per annum, students pursuing IIT will get Rs. 10,000 per annum and students pursuing degree or other courses will get Rs. 20,000 per annum. This reimbursement will be applicable till the completion of the course. On April 19, 2021 CM released about Rs. 672 crores as the 1st installment under this scheme.

- Through the first installment about 10.88 lakh students will be benefited in the state
- Second installment will be released this year in July, the third in December and last in February, 2022
- Dues amounting to Rs. 1,880 crores were cleared
- This scheme will help all the financially weaker students to study further
- It will ensure that no student finds it difficult to study due to financial constraints
- This will lead to overall development of the socially and economically weaker sections across the state in the long run
