Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports (YAS) has announced Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2019. Registrations are now open for the KIYG 2019. All the interested sports persons can register online for the event at the Khelo India official website kheloindia.gov.in or kheloindia.sportz.io This is the second year of the Khelo India event. The first version happened last year & was called as Khelo India School Games 2018. The second edition of the Khelo India Program is called as Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) 2019 i.e. Khelo India School Games Part – 2.
What is Khelo India Youth Games? A national level sports event for school, college & university students.
Objectives:
- To identify sports talents at the grass-root levels
- To identify good sports person at the school levels
- To nurture the talent
- To financially support them
- To convert them into medal winning athletes at the international levels
- To maximize the medals for India in the world championships & Olympics
Khelo India Youth Games Benefits (Prizes & Medals):
- Financial assistance (sponsorship) of Rs. 5 lakh per anum for 8 year
- National level event to be telecast-ed live across India
Eligibility / Who can participate in Khelo India Youth Games?
- Students from schools, college & universities can participate & register for the KIYG 2019
- Athletes, Coaches, Managers & Technical Officials can participate
- Athletes can participate in 2 categories
- Under 17 &
- Under 21
