On October 17, 2021 Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi launched ‘Mera Ghar Mere Naam’ for ensuring right entitlement/ ownership of properties within the lal lakir of villages as well as cities. The land which is used for habitation and non-agricultural purposes is called as lal lakir. This scheme is applicable to villages and cities. Under this scheme the state government will conduct drone surveys and digital mapping of residential properties in villages and cities. This scheme will help in maintaining proper land records with core transparency.
