The Merit Scholarship for SC, ST, OBC, and Minority is started by Delhi government (Department of Social Welfare) for students studying in class 6th to 12th and belongs to SC, ST, OBC, and Minority. The objective of this scheme is to promote talent among the SC/ST/OBC/Minorities students and enabling them to face the competitive world by providing the financial incentives in the form of merit scholarship.
Benefits of Merit Scholarship for SC, ST, OBC and Minority Students:
- The Merit Scholarship for SC, ST, OBC, and Minority provides benefits in terms of financial assistance for having better education opportunities. Rate of financial assistance is mentioned below
- Financial assistance structure for scoring 55% and above but less than 60% marks in the previous exam
- Class 6th to 8th: Rs. 600 per month
- Class 9th to 12th: Rs 1620 per month
- Financial assistance structure for scoring 60% and above marks in the previous exam
- Class 6th to 8th: Rs. 720 per month
- Class 9th to 12th: Rs 2040 per month
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Merit Scholarship for SC, ST, OBC and Minority Students:
- Students studying in class 6th to 12th in Central Govt /Govt. of Delhi/ Aided/ Recognized/Local bodies schools are eligible
- Family income limit is not applicable in case of SC/ST students
- But family income should not exceed 1.00 lakh per annum in case of OBC and minorities students
- A student is allowed to avail the scholarship either under the state plan scheme or centrally sponsored scholarship scheme, whichever is beneficial to him/her and should inform the awarding authority through the Head of the Institution by mode of a declaration
- Candidate should be residence of Delhi

- Caste certificate
- Non-creamy layer certificate
- Income certificate below Rs. 1 lakh from respective authority (only for OBC and Minority students)
- Minority declaration certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Aadhar card
- Bonafide certificate
- Bank Detail, account number, account holder name, IFSC code, MICR code
- Identity proof e.g. school identity card
- Residence proof e.g. certificate from respective residence authority
