To provide assistance to the women in the state who lost their husbands due to covid thereby ensuring their social security and welfare.

Maharashtra government has come up with Mission Vatsalya programme in the state for those women who lost their husbands due to covid. The initiative was launched and details were provided by Women and Child Development Minister Yashomati Thakur on August 25, 2021. Under this initiative, the state government tends to provide the beneficiaries with the coverage of 18 schemes and services in the state. The state government has mainly launched this initiative for women from rural areas and those belonging to lower income group. Currently about 10,500 beneficiary women have already been covered under this initiative.
