On December 20, 2021 Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched Mukhyamantri Bayu Swasthya Seva scheme in the state. This scheme intends to ensure Air Health Services to the remotest areas of the state. Under this scheme doctors and specialists from medical colleges and corporate hospitals will be airlifted for treating patients in need. If need arises even critical patients will be airlifted to district headquarter hospitals for treatment. All the costs under the scheme will be borne by the state government. Currently this scheme is applicable to Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Nuapada. This scheme will ensure that health care services reach remotest areas of the state. It intends to ensure life and health balance of the residents of the state. This scheme is a crucial step in the development of health care services in the state.
