Mukhyamantri Shahri Ajeevika Guarantee Yojana, Himachal Pradesh

Government of Himachal Pradesh launched the Mukhyamantri Shahri Ajeevika Guarantee Yojana (MMSAGY) in the state. Under this scheme, 120 days of wage employment will be provided to every household in urban areas in the state. This scheme is mainly launched for enhancing the livelihood opportunities in the urban areas. Along with 120 days of employment the scheme also focuses on a skill development of the beneficiaries. It will be implemented in all the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Cantonment Boards (CBs) across the state. This scheme mainly aims to assist the people to cope up with the crucial pandemic situation all over.

Scheme Objectives and Benefits:

• The main objective of the scheme is to boost the livelihood of urban households
• It aims at providing employment to cope up with the financial constraints due to pandemic situation all over
• It also aims at urban infrastructure development
• All the local residents of the state can avail the benefits under the scheme
• It provides 120 days of guaranteed wage employment
• Apart from guaranteed employment, skill training will also be provided under the scheme
• This scheme will give a financial and social security to the beneficiaries

Eligibility:

• All the adult members of the urban households are eligible
• Household will comprise of husband, wife and their minor children. But only adult members will be eligible
• The applicant should not be more than 65 years of age
• He/ She should be willing to do unskilled work at projects being executed or in Sanitation Services provided by the Urban Local Bodies

Scheme Details:

• Mukhyamantri Shahri Ajeevika Guarantee Yojana implies a guaranteed wage employment for 120 days to boost the livelihood security
• It is applicable to the urban households of the state
• The employment will be provided in the Urban Local Bodies
• This employment will be provided within 15 days of registration
• Wages will be as notified by the state government
• Both Male and Female beneficiaries will get equal pay and the amount will be credited to the respective bank accounts within 7 days after completion of 15 days of employment
• In case employment is not provided within the stipulated time then, an unemployment allowance of Rs. 75/- will be provided
• Eligible beneficiaries will also get skill training under Deen Dayal Antyodaya – National Urban Livelihood Mission (DAY-NULM)
• This training will help the beneficiaries to enhance their skills for better future opportunities
• Training will be provided up to a maximum of 4 weeks only after doing wage employment of 30 days
• Beneficiaries skilled under this scheme who are willing to start their own enterprise will be given loan provisions under DAY-NULM.
• It is a Self-Employment Programme (SEP) of DAY-NULM
• This scheme will be implemented in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Cantonment Boards (CBs) in Himachal Pradesh
• All the accounts and records under the scheme will be available for public scrutiny and will be uploaded on the website of ULB and Directorate of Urban Development
• Initially the scheme will remain applicable/ operational till March 31, 2021
• Application form to apply under the scheme is available on the official website @ ud.hp.gov.in

How to Apply/ Register:

• To register under MMSAGY, the applicant is required to visit the official website @ ud.hp.gov.in

• Scroll down to the Notice board and click on Mukhyamantri Shahri Ajeevika Guarantee Yojana (MMSAGY)

• Notification pdf will be displayed, go through the employment and other terms in the pdf
• Application form is available in the pdf (page no. 6)
• Applicant is required to fill in the details as required like name, address details, father’s name, bank details, DOB, Aadhaar no., etc and submit the hard copy in the concerned office

• Applicants can also register and apply online by visiting @ mmsagy.hp.gov.in/home.aspx. However currently the website is under construction.
• All the eligible beneficiaries of one household can apply through one single application form. No separate applications are required
• After verification of the form, Job card will be issued to the beneficiary free of cost within 7 days of registration
• Eligible beneficiaries will be given employment within 15 days of registration
• In case employment is not provided then unemployment allowance of Rs. 75/- per day will be paid to such beneficiaries by the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs)
