The Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, has announced the launch of the Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana on 16 February 2023. Through this scheme, more than 6000 orphan children of the state will be adopted by the state government as children of the state. All the facilities like education and foster care of those children will be borne by the government. Under this scheme, all the benefits of home, education, and marriage will be provided by the government to the children. Orphans and specially-abled children, destitute women, and senior citizens will also be covered under Mukhyamantari Sukh Aashray Yojana. A budget of Rs 101 crore has been fixed by the government for the operation of this scheme.

Objective: 

The main objective of starting the Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana the Himachal Pradesh government is to provide financial assistance to orphan children, destitute women, and senior citizens of the state. So that they do not have to face any kind of problems to live their life. Through this scheme, orphan children will be provided the benefits of all kinds of facilities related to their food, living, and education the government till the age of 27 years. The lives of destitute children will be improved through the Chief Minister’s Sukh Ashray Yojana. Which will help make their future bright. And they can be made empowered and self-dependent.

Under the Chief Minister’s Sukh Ashray Yojana, financial assistance will be provided to the children according to different facilities. Under this scheme, financial assistance will be given to the following facilities. Whose details are given below-

Under Mukhyamantari Sukh Aashray Yojana 2023, a recurring account will be opened for orphan children and destitute women living in institutions.
1000 amount will be directly transferred to the bank account by the government every month to children in the age group of 0 to 14 years. On the other hand, orphan children and single women in the age group of 14 to 18 years will be provided financial assistance of Rs 2500 every month.
Under this scheme, children above 18 years of age will be given an amount of Rs 1 lakh every year as coaching and hostel fees.
Apart from this, orphan children will be given a scholarship of Rs 4-4 thousand every month for accommodation at the time of coaching.
A picnic will also be organized every month for the overall development of the children.
Under the Mukhyamantri Sukh Ashray Yojana, such orphan children who do not have a house to live in will be provided financial assistance of Rs.
Those orphan children who are eligible for marriage will be given a grant amount of Rs. 2 lakhs by the government for marriage.
Orphan children who want to start their own startup will be given a lump sum amount of Rs 2 lakh by the government under this scheme.
Children living in orphanages will be given 500 rupees every year by the government to celebrate festivals on all festivals. So that the children can buy the things they need at the festival.
