Na-Bowari Scheme for Newly Married Women in Assam

The Na-Bowari Scheme for Newly Married Women started by Assam State Government, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Social Welfare Department. The main objective behind starting this scheme is to provide financial help to newly married women of Assam state and belongs to BPL (Below Poverty Line). Under this scheme, the Assam government decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. 10,000 one time so that by using that amount women would be able to stabilize herself after marriage. Under this scheme, married women of poor families are targeted by the government for awarding benefits to them for getting eligible under this scheme candidate women need to qualify some eligibility norms like age should be more than 20 years and belongs to BPL family. The nodal agency for implementing this scheme is Social Welfare Department of Assam

Required eligibility and conditions for applying Na-Bowari Scheme for Newly Married Women:

  1. Applicant women must be permanent residents of Assam state
  2. Applicant women must be newly married
  3. Age of applicant women should more than 20 years
  4. Marriage must be Registered Married
  5. Women married after Jan/2010 is eligible
  6. Women of BPL family is eligible

Document required for applying Na-Bowari Scheme for Newly Married Women:

  1. Permanent residence proof
  2. Aadhar card
  3. Marriage certificate
  4. BPL ration card
  5. Age proof e.g. birth certificate
  6. Identity proof of both husband and wife
  7. Bank details e.g. IFSC code, MICR code, account number, branch name
  8. Passport size photograph

Application procedure:

  1. Applicant women can collect application form from local Social Welfare Office and after filling it can submit that office itself
