The Pre-Examination Training Centers scheme is started by Karnataka government (Social Justice and Empowerment) in order to enable the SC, ST, OBC candidates to take up all types of competitive examinations held by central and state Govt, coaching is imparted in the PETCs with a view to improving the representation of SC/STs in various civil services conducted by UPSC / KPSC/ Public sector undertakings, such as Railway Recruitment Boards/ Banking Service Examinations etc. The students who take up coaching in these PETCs are given the stipend
Benefits of Pre-Examination Training Centers Scheme:
- The Pre-Examination Training Centers scheme provides benefits in the form of free coaching for competitive examination along with stipend
- The details of stipend and course duration offered to students of pre-examination training center mentioned below
- Civil Services Examination, conducted by UPSC (IAS/IPS): Duration 6 months for Rural Rs.2500 per month for Local Rs.1000 per month
- Gazetted Probationers Examination conducted by KPSC (KAS): Duration 1-3 months for Rural Rs.2500 per month for Local Rs.1000 per month
- Other Competitive Examinations: Duration 2-3 months for Rural Rs.350 per month and for Local Rs.125 per month
Required eligibility and conditions for applying Pre-Examination Training Centers Scheme:
- He/she should belong to SC, ST, OBC
- Must be within the age limit 18 to 35 years
- Minimum qualification is SSLC pass for all examination except for
- IAS/IPS coaching for which minimum qualification is Degree
- Income limit of the candidate’s family should be within Rs.1.00 lakh per annum
Application procedure and documents required for applying Pre-Examination Training Centers Scheme:
- Caste certificate
- Income certificate not more than Rs. lakh per year
- Education qualification as per requirement e.g. Degree certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Address proof
- Aadhar card
- Bank details, IFSC code, MICR code, account number, account holder name
Application procedure:
- Depending on the requirements of the recruiting agencies, the Principals of PETCs call for applications giving wide publicity in leading Kannada and English Newspapers. Students who wish to apply for taking up coaching in the concerned PETCs make contact the Principal PETC concerned or in case of delay they may contact the Director of Social Welfare
