Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students in Maharashtra

Pre-metric Scholarship scheme for Disabled Students introduced by the state government of Maharashtra in association with Social Justice and Special Assistance Department.  Under this scheme, Maharashtra government provides Pre-metric Scholarship for the Disabled person studying in 1^st std. to 10^thstd. The scholarship given by government differs from 1^st std. to 10^th std. for Disabled Persons. The benefits provided for 1^st to 4^th std. (only for Pre-primary education for hearing impaired) is Rs.100/- per month, for 5^th to 7^th std. is Rs.150/- per month, for 8^th to 10^th std. is Rs.200/- per month, for Mentally Retarded and mentally ill person up to the age of 18 years is Rs.150/- per month, and for disabled trainees in the workshop is Rs.300/- per month per student. The objective of the scheme to gives scholarships to encourage education of disabled children. Those persons who are physically disabled such as Blind, Low Vision, Hearing Impairment, Orthopedically Handicapped, Mentally Retarded, Mentally Illness & Leprosy cured will get benefits under this scheme. The main aim behind introducing this scheme is to support and encourage disabled persons so that they should be able to get an education and live the common life. The government has an intention to develop disabled people educationally and economically. Applicant should have minimum 40% disability and domicile of Maharashtra state for apply and get benefits from this scholarship scheme

Benefits of Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students in Maharashtra:

• Benefits provided for 1^st to 4^th (only for Pre-primary education for hearing impaired) is Rs.100/- per month per student
• Benefits provided for 5^th to 7^th is Rs. 150/- per month,
• Benefits provided for 8^th to 10^th is Rs. 200/- per month per student
• Benefits provided for Mentally Retarded and mentally ill person up to age of 18 years is Rs.150/- per month per student
• Benefits provided for disabled trainees in the workshop is Rs. 300/- per month per student
• Note: The benefits provided under this scheme differ from 1^st std. to 10th std.

Eligibility criteria for Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students in Maharashtra:

1. Applicant should have minimum 40% disability
2. Applicant should be Domicile in Maharashtra
3. Student should be studying in 1^st to 10^th std and should not be failed in last year
4. There is no income limit for this scheme

1. Aadhaar card
2. Domicile certificate
3. Certificate of disability having percentage of disability 40% or above
4. Bank account details
5. Passport size photos

Benefits provided under this scheme differ from 1^st std. to 10th std. for Pre-Metric Scholarship Scheme for Disabled Students in Maharashtra:

1. Applicant should fill application form in prescribed format with all necessary documents and submitted to concern school
