Chhattisgarh government has come up with Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Bhumihin Krishi Majdur Nyay Yojana for assisting the landless workers in the state. The scheme announcement was made by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on July 28, 2021. Under this scheme, financial assistance of Rs. 6000 will be provided every year to the landless agriculture workers or labour under MGNREGA. Assistance will also be provided to barbers, blacksmiths, dhobis and priests across the state. It intends to provide assistance to all the families of workers who do not own even a small piece of land and are dependent on the agricultural labour work. This scheme will soon be launched and will be implemented from this year in the state. State government has made a provision of Rs. 200 crores for this scheme in the supplementary budget.
