The State Government of Kerala has come up with Samashwasam Scheme for providing financial assistance to Kidney patients belonging to below poverty line (BPL) families who are undergoing dialysis at least once in a month. As per the earlier statistics in Kerala, there are around 15,000 dialysis patients are undergoing treatment through different hospitals in Kerala and more than 5000 patients belong to below poverty line (BPL) category. In this scheme, the government of Kerala has issued orders to enhance the amount of financial assistance of Rs. 525/- per month to Rs. 900 per month. The patient belongs to below poverty line are eligible for this scheme and patient must have issued medical certificate by nephrologists from Govt/Private hospital where the patient is undergoing monthly dialysis. The main objective of the scheme is to provide Care and protection to the weaker section of our community. Kerala government started the various scheme for the welfare of the people. The state has initiated many social security schemes for the poor people and this scheme really help to those people who cannot afford medical treatment

Eligibility for Samashwasam Scheme:
- Applicant should be resident of Kerala state
- Patient should belong to below poverty line families
- Applicant should have medical certificate issued by a reputed nephrologist from Government/Private hospital where the patient is undergoing monthly dialysis
- The medical certificate must have mentioned the date from which the patient started the dialysis treatment
- Applicant must be nationalized bank account holder

- Aadhaar card
- BPL card
- Bank passbook details
- Medical certificate
How to apply for Samashwasam Scheme:
- Applications for Samashwasam Scheme are available at Panchayat offices, Corporation/Municipal offices, Anganwadi workers, Kerala social security mission website(KSSM) and Kerala social security mission offices in Kerala
