To pursue higher education in abroad, the State Government of Madhya Pradesh (Tribal Welfare Department) is providing scholarships to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) students. The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to scheduled tribe students for pursuing their post graduation level courses/Research-Degrees in foreign countries in specific fields and participating in Post-Doctoral programs. The government granted at least 10 Scholarships to the scheduled tribe students every year. The aim is to encourage candidates to participate in research fields. This scheme provides them an opportunity to have international collaborative research opportunities, training in advanced techniques and technologies in emerging fields thereby enhancing their research capacity and ability to contribute to higher education with a global perspective. In this scheme, the government provides financial assistance for those scheduled tribe students who selected for higher education in aboard. Madhya Pradesh Government took very well initiative for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students by providing them scholarship and this will help them to pursue their dreams

Eligibility for Scholarship to the Scheduled Tribe Students for Abroad Studies:
- Applicant should be resident of Madhya Pradesh state
- Applicant age should not be more than 35 years. The relaxation of 10 years in age limit can be given to the special cases
- The student family income should not be more than Rs. 5,00,000/- (five lakh) per annum from all sources
- For Post Research-Degree Studies: First division or 60% marks or equivalent grade in respective Post Graduation Exam. (For scheduled tribe candidates, Second Division with 50 % marks and experience in respective field with Research Degree (PhD.)
- For Research Degree (P.H.D): First division or 60% marks or equivalent grade in respective Post Graduation Exam. (For scheduled tribe candidates, second Division with 50 % marks and two years Teaching / Research / Professional experience in respective field / M. Phil. Degree)
- For Post Graduation Degree: First division or 60% marks or equivalent grade in respective Graduation Exam. (For scheduled tribe candidates, second Division with 55 % marks)
Documents required for Scholarship to the Scheduled Tribe Students for Abroad Studies:
- Residence Proof e.g. certificate from residence authority
- Birth Certificate
- Identity proof (Aadhaar Card, Election Card)
- Caste Certificate issued by a Competent Authority
- All Degrees/Diplomas/Certificate with mark sheets
- Income certificate of parents
- Candidate must submit document which shows evidence of admission to a university or a course, and a full detail of the institute’s financial requirements
