Maharashtra government started new initiative named ‘Sharad Pawar Gram Samridhi Yojana’ in December 2020. This scheme was named after NCP chief Mr. Sharad Pawar, also to memorialize his 80th birthday. This scheme runs in similar line with MNREGS -Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS). It aims at development of villages, thereby doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022. It tends to create more rural employment opportunities. This scheme will lead to holistic development of villages in the state.
