Maharashtra government has come up with a new initiative named ‘Sharad Pawar Rural Prosperity Scheme’. This scheme after NCP chief Mr. Sharad Pawar, also to memorialize his 80th birthday. This scheme will run in similar line with MNREGS -Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS). It aims at development of villages, thereby doubling the income of farmers by the year 2022. It will also create more rural employment opportunities. This scheme will lead to holistic development of villages in the state.
