Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems for Irrigation Purpose to Farmer

Solar photovoltaic water pumping systems for irrigation purpose launched by National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD). NABARD launch this scheme association with the Union ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE). Solar water pumping aims to promote solar photovoltaic water pumping systems for irrigation purpose. Under this scheme, the government of India provided subsidy on solar photovoltaic water pumping systems for irrigation purpose. The government takes initiative due to lack of connected electricity in many parts of the country. A large number of diesel pump sets are being used for the purpose of irrigation in agriculture by farmers. The operating cost of diesel pump sets is increasing day by day. The Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems can easily meet the irrigation requirements of land holdings for small and marginal farmers. The scheme involves the provision of loans by Commercial Banks, RRBs, State and District Central Cooperative Banks, SCARDBs and NABARD (under direct lending) for installation of Solar PV Pumping systems for the purpose of irrigation and capital subsidy will be provided for the same. Subsidy gives under the scheme is available only for solar systems and seller of manufacturers/entrepreneurs are listed on MNRE website. The list of manufacturers/ entrepreneurs for solar water pumping programme is available on MNRE website and it may undergo updation from time to time by the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE). Eligibility of Solar Scheme:

1. Individuals farmers are eligible
2. Group of individual farmers also eligible for this scheme
3. Farmers Club and Farmers Producers Organization will be eligible for subsidy

2. Applicant 7/12 if required
3. Applicant address proof such as Aadhaar card
4. Applicant bank account details

Application procedure:

1. The eligible candidate apply to the banks for sanction of loan for the project
2. Applicant visit nationalize bank, State and District Central Cooperative Banks for more details about solar photovoltaic water pumping systems for irrigation purpose
3. Applicant may visit district and Taluka level agriculture department in state
