Special Education and Vocational Training through Non-Governmental Aided organization for disabled persons introduced by the state government of Maharashtra in association with Social Justice and Special Assistance Department. Under this scheme, Special education is provided to disabled children below the age of 18 years in the special school run by Non-Governmental Aided organization(NGOs). Vocational training is also given to special children above 18 years old. The benefits provided to Child with a disability has access to free education in an appropriate environment till he/she attains the age of eighteen years & above 18 years vocational training given to special children. In this scheme, the free facilities of food, shelter, clothing, and education are provided to disabled children’s in the non-government aided organization. These organizations are especially run for disabled children’s in the state. Those persons who are physically handicapped such as visually handicapped, Low vision, hearing impaired and orthopedically handicapped will get benefits under this scheme. The main aim behind introducing this scheme is to support and encourage trained disabled persons so that they should be able to live the common life. Government has an intention to develop non-governmental aided organization for taking care or provide Special Education and Vocational Training to disabled people

- Special education to disabled children between age group of 6 to 18 years in the government special schools
- Vocational training also provided to special children’s above the age of 18 years
- Benefits of free facilities of food, shelter, clothing, and education are provided to disabled children’s in government institutes
Eligibility for Special Education and Vocational Training through Non-Governmental Aided Organization:
- Applicant should have minimum 40% disability
- Applicant should be Domicile in Maharashtra
- Application should be in given format and submitted to concern special School/Vocational Training center
Documents required for Special Education and Vocational Training through Non-Governmental Aided Organization:
- Aadhaar card
- Certificate of disability having percentage of disability 40% or above
Application procedure for Special Education and Vocational Training through Non-Governmental Aided Organization:
- Application should be in given format with all necessary documents and submitted to Concern voluntary organization
- Applicant should contact voluntary organization for disabled, district Social Welfare Office, Zilla Parishad and Assistant Commissioner Social Welfare Office, Mumbai Urban & Mumbai Suburban
